Duration: 4 months

The construction industry is well known for the use of materials and the voluminous waste from construction processes. The potential for infusing Circular economy principles in design and construction processes, can have great impact in reducing Construction and Demolition waste, promote the reuse of material and reduce strain in local supply and demand for construction materials. The absence of CE standards for construction and experience in circular processes (excluding recycling), makes the adoption of such CE practices extremely difficult.
The Constructionarium has been a leader in experiential (practice-based) learning for Civil Engineering and Architectural students in the UK. This project will seek to expand the benefits of Constructionarium learning objectives to include Circular Economy construction projects and propose a potential collaboration with HEIs in Cyprus as well as other Cyprus-based industry stakeholders with Constructionarium Ltd (UK).
The project will include a visit from the Coordinator to the UK and a reciprocal visit from a Constructionarium representative in Cyprus for an ideation workshop and a panel discussion with Engineering Educators and Construction Industry Stakeholders.
